🌼 As a new homeschooling family three years ago, I read a few books and chatted with a mom at dance while I second guessed everything through trial and error that first year. Why didn’t I think to find a podcast to listen to? INSERT CHERYL. Cheryl didn’t just read a few books, she decided to start a podcast to interview other homeschooling mamas and glean wisdom from each. BRILLIANT.

🌼 We begin this episode pretty raw. Discussing why we connected—our former lives being pro vax mamas, until tragedy.

Meet Cheryl:

Hi, I’m Cheryl—your fellow conspiracy-loving mama who firmly believes the government has no place in raising my kids.

Here’s the kicker: I had zero experience with homeschooling when I realized I wanted to keep my kids out of the school system. I thought homeschoolers were weird and spent their days sewing and whittling. Could I blend our world with homeschooling? Would my kids resent me for missing out on traditional experiences like the prom and football games?

I didn’t know, so I set out on a mission to learn from the experts.

I began my podcast interviewing homeschooling families so I could explore all the ways people are homeschooling, breaking free from the confines of cubicles and classrooms to embrace a life of freedom and curiosity. This journey has been life changing and led me to leave my 16-year government career to fully embrace the homeschooling lifestyle.. and I want to help you do the same!

This week on @theaccidentalhomeschoolmamapodcast I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jennifer Pepito, founder of the Peaceful Press homeschool curriculum, host of the Restoration Home podcast, and author of Mothering by the book, as well as her latest, Habits for a Sacred Home.

In this episode Jennifer shares what called her to homeschool her seven children, how that’s evolved over the last 27 years, and what home education looks like with her youngest children today.

We talk about the inspiration behind creating the Peaceful Press curriculum, writing books, running a podcast, hosting retreats, and all the fun projects in between. We also discuss the challenges that can arise when you are trying to steward it all well.

Lastly, Jennifer shares the importance of taking the time to look your children in the eyes, even in the busiest of seasons while ensuring your home is a steady ground for your children.
